a self portrait project created during and about solo quarantine
“Just pretend I’m not here!”
If I’ve photographed you before, this phrase will sound familiar.
Fly-on-the-wall photography has always been my favorite, and in quarantine I’ve started to think about what it means to be a fly on the wall in my own home.
That question grew into this project, the bulk of which happened before I even took out my camera. It started by seeing my day-to-day through a new mental lens. Once I started creating images (over the span of about a month), my camera became company and this video is our conversation. By sharing it with you I hope to plant that same seed of inquiry.
