I think I wanted to come back to Texas where I'm from, where I was born. So much had shifted for me during the pandemic in my heart. And I thought maybe something might have shifted for my parents too. I was running a mutual aid network in Jerusalem between Americans, Israelis, and Palestinians. There was so much mutual aid. There was so much care in my world. And I thought maybe they'll see me again. Maybe they'll talk to me. Maybe my parents-- because it's the end of the world-- maybe they'll care. So I flew back to America, rented a car in New York and drove from New York to Texas.
